SUMMARY:Training Your Touch: Advanced Palpation Skills
DESCRIPTION:SORRY. REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS CLOSED.\nPlease consider our classes in Cornelius\n\n\nDescription:\nYour success in massage therapy depends on your palpation skills. Pause for a moment to really take that in. You may think that your skills are fine. If “fine”\, “adequate”\, or “average” is your goal\, then you probably don’t need this seminar. If you want to be the BEST…Read on! \nVery little time is spent on palpation in massage school. There just isn’t enough room in the typical massage curriculum. Now\, you can take matters into your own hands by expanding your skill level and increasing your effectiveness with two full days of training. This seminar blends lecture\, discussion and guided exercises with plenty of hands-on practice to develop and refine your sense of touch. It is a great opportunity for massage CE in Asheville. \nOn the first day\, working with inanimate objects and living tissues\, we adopt strategies from world-renowned educators to increase sensitivity and awareness. Then\, we will use our newly enhanced abilities to evaluate the cardiac pulse and respiratory movements for signs of dysfunction\, pathology\, and nervous system activation. On the second day\, our examination of skin\, fascia and muscles will flow seamlessly into treatment with results that will boost your confidence as a therapist. If you expect palpation to be boring\, I think you will be surprised \nHighlights:\n\nDiscuss the anatomy and physiology of touch\nPractice differentiating various textures and tissues through touch\nLearn specific skills for assessing skin\nLearn specific skills for assessing muscles\nPractice evaluating the cardiac pulse\nPractice evaluating respiratory movements\nLearn to evaluate the nervous system through touch\nLearn about the importance of verbal description in palpation\n\nWhat participants have to say! \nBring:\nA massage table if you have one. SUMMARY:The Meridian Connection
DESCRIPTION:Note: The Meridian Connection has expanded to Two Days (16 CE hours) based on popular demand. If you completed the one-day Meridian Connection class\, you can take this 16 hour version (THIS YEAR ONLY) for the REPEAT rate of $175 (Space is limited). \nLearn how to use acupuncture meridians to empower your bodywork! Structured for accelerated learning\, this two-day seminar can provide more practical understanding than an entire course in shiatsu or acupressure. \nOur focus will be on applying acupuncture concepts to massage therapy assessment and treatment. We will learn some acupuncture points but emphasis is on the meridian pathway itself. We will trace fourteen meridians and study the associated muscles\, organs\, emotions\, and pathologies. If you keep hearing about meridians and wish you understood them better\, this is a rare opportunity to increase your confidence and therapeutic effectiveness by spending two days immersed in them. \nOn the second day\, we cover five categories of acupuncture points including entry and exit points\, front mu and back shu points and command points. Working with these points will deepen our understanding and comfort level with the meridian pathways. It sounds like a lot of material but the content of this class is structured to meet the needs of massage therapists and other bodyworkers. Each segment is designed to enhance clinical results. \nThis seminar is a perfect complement to classes in muscle testing and Touch For Health Kinesiology. The material will also be very much appreciated by practitioners of chi gung or tai chi. The concepts and hands-on techniques are useful for anyone who is interested in meridians and health. \nBring:\nSomething to write with. Dress in layers (as always) since temperature may be difficult to control. We will not be disrobing in this class. \nContinuing Education: 16 CE hours\n\nNationally Certified Bodyworkers (NCBTMB) and LMT’s in all the states that accept NCBTMB approval\nFlorida Massage Therapists (CE Broker Tracking #: 20-591507)\n\nRegistration dates:\nEarly registration & discounted fee available until August 25! \n\nPLEASE REGISTER THROUGH GWINNETT COLLEGE IN RALEIGH – 919-872-6386
