SUMMARY:Training Your Touch 2: Following the Fascia
DESCRIPTION:THIS CLASS WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR A LATER DATE. \nAre you ready for the next step in refining your skills? After a quick overview of Training Your Touch: Advanced Palpation Skills (Which is NOT a prerequisite for this class)\, we will practice palpating and assessing physiological movement in the body. Then we begin evaluating the fascial network at various movement centers to identify stress or dysfunction. Topics will include osteopathic concepts that relate to our therapy methods\, and how to apply those concepts in assessment and treatment. I believe that understanding the relationship between theory and technique is key to obtaining optimal results. \nThe second day begins with grounding and centering to refine our perception. Then we mindfully assess tension patterns and fascial pulls in the lower extremities\, upper extremities\, and torso. By applying what we have learned to different layers of tissue\, we will literally be “following the fascia” to the dominant restriction. Finally\, we pull everything together to practice both assessment and treatment. This training will expand your skill in any method of bodywork. \nPrerequisites: NONE. The class is open to everyone. (Two or more years of hands-on experience is recommended) \nCORE BENEFITS\nLearn advanced manual assessment strategies and fascial evaluation techniques\nUnderstand key principles of effective assessment and treatment \nWHY TAKE THIS TWO-DAY CLASS?\nAfter participating in this class\, you will be able to: \n\nDiscuss the importance of grounding before assessment\nDescribe the role of mindfulness in palpation\nDemonstrate one or more techniques for relaxing the nervous system\nDiscuss how to enhance palpation skills for assessment and treatment\nDemonstrate using touch to evaluate sympathetic activation\nDiscuss the Osteopathic concept of “The Body Hugs the Lesion”\nDemonstrate identification of postural strain patterns through touch\nDiscuss the importance of fascia in manual assessment\nDiscuss the potential role of interoception in assessment\nPerform three or more assessment techniques at the feet and ankles\nDemonstrate how assessment can merge into treatment\nDiscuss the concept of “inhibition”\nDescribe how to use rhythms and micro-movements in assessment and treatment\nDemonstrate how to apply inhibition to orthopedic testing\nDemonstrate fascial assessment of the upper extremities\, lower extremities\, and back\nBe able to “follow the fascia’ in both assessment and treatment\n\nDownload and Print a FLYER for this class \nFEE\n$300 Early Registration Price (includes study guide) \nDiscount for CFSMT Graduates! \nCONTINUING EDUCATION: 16 CONTACT HOURS\n“Training Your Touch 2: Following the Fascia” is approved for the following: \n\nNCBTMB certified therapists (and LMT’s in states that accept NCBTMB approval)\nMassage therapists in Florida and Georgia (CE Broker Tracking #: 20-747062)\n\n\n\nRegistration: THIS CLASS IS CANCELLED
